The leaves are used in aquariums because of their tannin content. They contain phytonutrients such as lignans, isoflavones and saponins. They are known for their antibacterial and antifungal properties. When placed in an aquarium, they stimulate spawning, reduce stress and improve natural coloration. They are perfect as a natural food for miniature shrimps. The leaves cause a slight decrease in PH, acidification of the water and its disinfection.
Usage method
The leaves can be thrown directly into the aquarium and they will last longer. If we scald them with a little boiling water beforehand, they will release tannins faster, and animals and bacteria will feed on them faster. Leaves packed loose, naturally they can be of different sizes and colors.
